2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8

Redesigned last year, the big 300 sedan marches into 2012 with a new, more powerful offering—the 470-hp SRT8—and an eight-speed transmission for V-6 models. The last bastion of the full-size rear-drive (or AWD) American sedan, the 300 is comfortable, refined, and stylish.

Highs

Eight-speed makes the most of the V-6, torque-rich Hemi V-8, spacious interior, comfortable ride, Bentley-like styling, SRT8 returns with more power.

Lows

Both V-8s will suck down fuel when prodded, a bit too big and brash for some.

Behind The Wheel
